May 2025

We had so much fun during the past couple of general meeting/workshops with Rhonda Porter’s expertise in Cyanotype dyeing and Wendy Anderson’s knowledge and skills during a wonderful Show and Tell using so many amazing examples of how to use the sewing machine and its many accessories. Thank you to all presenters and hosts, and those members who bring along their home-baked goodies for us to share at morning and afternoon teas. It was lovely to see another visitor Ann Harper brought along, who works in the field.

Please complete your Blue by You pieces for Carolyn Clausen and hand in the final works on Monday, May 5 for the Craft Alive display, which will be held from Thursday, 8 May to Saturday, 10 May, at Broadmeadow Racecourse Hall, 100 Darling St, Broadmeadow. If you are able to help on any day, please let Carolyn know. Thank you to both Carolyn and Wilma Simmons for guiding us through both techniques used for the display artworks. There will be no sales at the NCEATA table this year as time has run out for organizing this aspect.

The next exhibition will be open from May 28 – 30 September at Charlestown Library. Last month, the Final Entry Form was been emailed to each participating artist as an attachment; please read the email and front of the form then complete and sign the form and bring it to the May workshops, Monday and Saturday, 5th and 17th May, with your completed artworks. The Exhibition Team urgently requires the updated description, which needs to include your inspiration, materials and techniques. We have 15 artists with 26 artworks so it should be another amazing display and exhibition.

Enjoy creating!
