FELTING WORKSHOP
at your place or mine
(Salamander Bay, Port Stephens)

SO WHAT IS FELTING?

Felt is a non-woven fabric which is made from animal fibres. Unlike other fabrics which are made from spun yarns, felt is created directly from wool fleece or other hair fibres. When these fibres are subjected to heat, pressure, agitation, moisture, and alkalinity (soap), they bond together. The word felt is also a verb used to describe the bonding process.
From – ‘Fundamentals of Feltmaking’ by Patricia Spark
